Sizes vary dramatically from shop to shop. I would agree with Daffy, a 10 is 28", a 12 is 30" so a 14 would be 32". Question Author thanks againlost a bit of weight and so went shopping today - wanted to know what size to try on Question Author yup thats where i measure my waist 2 i posted the orig question also not sure if this is the correct place to measure from. Then theres the hips Or should it be lower?
You should measure your waist at the narrowest point. Original post by minimalpenguin Im a 32 waist as well male and got some primark womens jeans which were size 12 and I could fit into 10's but they were really tight. Although they are quite stretchy and it is primark sizing I'd say if you want to play it on the safe side get size 14, but the obvious thing to do would be to go try some on.
Also as a warning you may have to wear them low down to avoid crushing your balls, and they will probably have really small pockets. Report 6 years ago 7. My "ass" hip measures 40" and growing. I need the extra size on the top of the thighs too. Both women and yes men too, get caught looking, both front and back, LOL. Original post by bj hunter I'm a size 12 in ladies hip hugger or curve enhancing jeans.

A inch waist equates to a size 32 in women's jean sizes. In regular women's US dress sizes, however, a inch waist is usually somewhere around a size 14 or XL, depending on the manufacturer and cut of the clothing. Not sure because women are shaped differently to men. For example a 32" waist for women is usually a size 14 BUT women tend to have more of a waist/hip ratio hence you may actually fit a woman's size 12 or even 10 for the hips/thighs but get a muffin top because they are too tight around the middle. For example, if you have a jeans size 36/32, the number 36 means that you have a waist width of 36 inches. The number 32 then corresponds to a leg length of 32 inches. 1 inch corresponds to cm. Before measuring your pants, take a pair of jeans and place them flat on the floor.
